"I always listen to my clients first and then create my design. Listening is important. "

Tell us a little about this project, how did you get started?

The client’s house was built in 2000 and the kitchen had original builder-grade half overlay cherry cabinets. We removed all the cabinets as well as the countertop, backsplash, sink and faucet and installed beautiful Middleton Flat panel cabinets in their place.

What do you like best about the design?

Every single project inspires me differently. Since everyone has different needs and color taste, I create personalized designs for each of my clients. For this space, I liked the color combination that we selected. We chose White Icing Classic for the main base, wall, and tall cabinets. However, on the island, we decided to use the Peppercorn finish as a complimentary color. We also used a white and gray/beige countertop with a warm tan travertine backsplash. The finished look is really bright and inviting.

How did you use modifications and functional storage to take this kitchen to the next level?

I added 6×6 columns to the island, which really changed the look and gave it a custom feel. I also chose four roll-out tray pantry cabinets for storage — my client loves them!

Why did you choose Medallion for this project?

First of all, Medallion is made in the USA and has good quality. Second, there are many size and cabinet selections to choose from. Lastly, modifications are available when needed. My favorite part of designing with Medallion is that I can easily find what I like to put in my designs. Also, there are a lot of color options which makes the selection much easier.

Any advice for kitchen designers who are just getting started?

Well, I always listen to my clients first and then create my design. Listening is important.
